PIAD Precision Casting Corp.
Since its inception in 1967, PIAD’s mission is the expansion of the casting market by competing with and converting functional components from other manufacturing processes.
Each year the AFS (American Foundrymen's Society) sponsors a casting competition and selects a casting company for "best in class" award. PIAD is proud to have earned "Best In Class" awards from the AFS for 2001, 2004, 2008, and 2009. Below are links to each of our casting awards.
It is important to note that in cases of casting conversions from steel weldments or steel forgings, PIAD substitutes the material with one of its high strength nickel-aluminum bronze alloys. These alloys match or exceed the tensile and yield strength of medium alloyed steel.
Current operations include a 54,000 square foot permanent mold foundry in Greensburg, PA and a 28,000 square foot machine shop in Latrobe, PA. PIAD defines its business as the manufacturing of “functional components” produced using the chill mold casting process.
PIAD defines its business as the manufacturing of functional components utilizing its unique chill casting process and a wide variety of copper base and aluminum alloys to produce near net shape castings and provide cost effective solutions for its customers.
