Quality American vacuum formed plastic manufacturers
Vacuum forming, which is a version of thermoforming and one of the oldest plastic forming methods, occurs when a sheet of plastic is heated and formed onto the surface of a single-surface mold by a vacuum. Only one side of the plastic sheet is shaped using the mold.
This process is typically used for larger products / parts at smaller production runs and is good for rapid prototyping. It allows for lower setup and design costs compared to higher-volume plastics manufacturing processes such as injection molding. Use of the vacuum forming method is common in many automotive components such as bumpers and door interiors, engine covers, parts for ATMs / kiosks, and plastic packaging.
Need to find a vacuum formed plastic supplier? Sourcing your product in America reduces your delivery times, costs, and environment impact. Use Mark1 to easily find & compare from over 400 US suppliers that specialize in vacuum formed plastics.

Upon entrance to the barrel, the temperature increases and the Van der Waals forces that resist relative flow of individual chains are weakened as a result of increased space between molecules at higher thermal energy states. This process reduces its viscosity, which enables the polymer to flow with the driving force of the injection unit. The screw delivers the raw material forward, mixes and ho...Read more
