Quality American plastic extrusion manufacturers

Plastic extrusion occurs by heating material and forcing it through a die, which shapes the plastic into a continous shape that hardens during cooling. After the plastic material is cooled, these continuous linear products can be cut to length. The extrusion process is ideal when a variety of lengths of the same shape are needed. If multiple materials are needed to produce a product, then a co-extrusion process can be used.

This process enables manufacturers to efficiently produce a high volume of plastic with the same shape at different lengths while minimizing design and setup costs. Products produced via plastic extrusion include deck railings, drinking straws, industrial piping, medical device tubing, vinyl siding, and wire insulation.

Need to find an plastic extrusion supplier? Sourcing your product in America reduces your delivery times, costs, and environment impact. Use Mark1 to easily find & compare from over 700 US suppliers that specialize in plastics extrusion.

Conductive Plastics Company

Mr. Delmar has a knack for analogy that he uses to explain terms like, "profile extrusion" and "injection molding." Profile extrusion is plastic manufacturing process similar to what happens when cookies are made with a cookie press. In addition to this and many other more complex techniques, Conductive Plastics also offers prototype development. Delmar will design and produce a handmade prototyp...e of the particular shape and material that your business might need for a fraction of the cost of commanding an entire order. Delmar explains, "This way you have only spent $2500 to $3000 for the development cost instead of being stuck, for example, with 25,000 parts that do not meet your specifications and have tooling costs of $25,000."Read more

Grant Engineering & Manufacturing

As plans unfolded for the Solent III—later used as a Hollywood prop in Raiders of the Lost Ark—Rick and Randy’s drive, technical ingenuity, and resourcefulness attracted the attention of Jim and Harry McDonald, twin brothers who were pioneers in injection-molded precision parts and took the Grants “under their wing.” Within the McDonald’s well-established business, Rick and Randy learned tooling ...and business skills, served their first customers, and quickly earned a reputation for creative use of aviation innovations on projects—instrument housing fabricated out of aluminum with airplane-type construction, bead blasting (traditionally used to remove corrosion) for texturing parts, etc. They also hand delivered most of their projects, an unconventional approach that established immediate customer loyalty.Read more

RPM Engineering Corp.

If the pipeline is earthed, the accumulated charge flows safely to ground. However, if the pipeline is not earthed, a charge could accumulate which may then be discharged instantaneously by an incendive spark to a nearby earthed conductor. If the spark has sufficient energy and a flammable air/product mixture is present, an explosion will result. It is therefore normal practice for hoses generall...y to be specified that they be electrically conductive (with a maximum resistance of 10 Ωs) so that the electrostatic charge is continuously drained away. Even so, it is common practice in the petroleum industry to specify a maximum flow velocity of 7m/sec when pumping low conductivity products to ensure that a charge is not generated more quickly than can be dissipated through normal arrangements. Charges generated can be of many thousands of volts, but currents are of the order of a few microamps.Read more
